Job Description

Make a real difference as a special education professional working with young learners in community preschools near Philadelphia, PA. Enjoy a dynamic contract role serving as an itinerant teacher, supporting approximately 30 students across multiple preschools in the Lansdowne, Darby, Sharon Hill, Glenolden, Morton, Aston, Broomall, and Folcroft areas. This position offers the chance to collaborate with various educators and contribute to meaningful early intervention services for children with special needs.

This full-time opportunity provides a structured Monday through Friday schedule (8:00 am 3:30 pm) with a consistent weekly workload of 35 hours. Guidance and specialized training will ensure you feel confident and supported as you get started, and there is strong potential to extend the position into the next school year and summer term.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid PK-4 and/or Special Education certification in Pennsylvania (emergency permits considered)
  • Demonstrated skill and experience working with preschoolers requiring special education services
  • Comfortable traveling to multiple preschool sites within the designated region
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation abilities
  • Passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct special education instruction and support to a diverse caseload of young learners
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized plans
  • Travel to community preschools, adapting to different environments and classroom cultures
  • Monitor student progress and document outcomes
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing child study processes
