Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Moderate to Severe Special Education Teaching license
- Experience working with K8 students in a school setting is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with families, staff, and administration
- Organizational skills to manage documentation and a diverse caseload
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet individual students needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Assess and track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for optimum success
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to promote student inclusion
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and document progress regularly
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team discussions regarding student needs and program adjustments
- Provide direct specialized instruction in both individual and small group formats
- Support classroom behavior management and offer positive behavioral interventions
