Job Description

An opportunity is available for two Special Education Teachers to provide essential support in an elementary school setting in Oxford, ME. These full-time contracted positions offer the chance to make a positive impact on students' educational experiences while working onsite in a collaborative and supportive environment.

One position focuses on serving as a 3rd grade case manager, managing a caseload of 12 students with the assistance of two support staff members. The second role is for a Life Skills teacher and case manager responsible for a caseload of six students. Both positions require dedication to individualized instruction and the ability to work closely with students, families, and school staff to meet diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored special education plans for assigned students
  • Collaborate with support staff, families, and other educators to enhance student success
  • Monitor student progress and adjust programming as needed
  • Manage caseload responsibilities including documentation and communication
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment onsite

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for the state of Maine
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to student-centered educational practices
