A Special Education Teacher position is available in Okatie, SC, supporting multiple school locations. This role involves providing specialized instruction for students with diverse learning needs, focusing on early childhood to severe and profound challenges.
Locations include:
- Early Childhood Special Education at Okatie Elementary in Bluffton, SC
- Severe and Profound Special Education at May River High School in Bluffton, SC
Position Details:
- Onsite work environment
- Full-time schedule, 37.5 hours per week
- Contract-based employment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and specialists to support student development
- Maintain accurate records on student progress and compliance with special education regulations
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate students with varying levels of abilities
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with early childhood and/or severe and profound disability populations preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and engage with families
