Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for professionals with a specialized focus on behavior management within an elementary school setting. This contract position is designed for educators dedicated to supporting young students in their behavioral needs and facilitating successful transitions back to their home schools.

Location:
Ocean Springs, MS

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans aimed at stabilizing student behaviors.
  • Provide direct support to K2 students within a 45-day behavior program, ensuring a structured and nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other staff to model best practices in behavior management.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and interventions.
  • Engage in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
  • Participate in training opportunities related to crisis prevention and therapeutic practices.

Qualifications:

  • Mild/Moderate Endorsement (221) required.
  • CPR certification, which can be provided if not currently held.
  • Strong background in behavior management and therapeutic techniques.
  • Experience working with young children, particularly in managing challenging behaviors.
  • Organizational skills to implement routines and track progress effectively.
  • Preferred training in Crisis Prevention/Intervention (e.g., CPI, Mandt).
