Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the 2023-2024 contract school year, supporting middle and high school students in a K-12 educational setting located in Norwich, CT. This onsite position requires a dedicated professional with a focus on special education, ready to provide tailored instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide instruction and support across middle and high school grade levels
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to ensure student success
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal education regulations

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid 165 Comprehensive Special Education Certification
  • Experience working with middle and high school students in special education settings
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work onsite full-time and manage a caseload effectively
