A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available at an elementary school in North Chicago, IL. This contract position offers a chance to work with 4th and 5th-grade students in a resource classroom setting, providing tailored educational support to meet diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards.
- Delivering inclusive instruction and differentiated lessons to support student growth.
- Collaborating closely with general education teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Special Education license is required.
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with special education endorsement.
- Prior experience working in a school setting, preferably with upper elementary students.
- Strong candidate with proven ability to manage a resource classroom caseload effectively.
Employment Details:
- Contract position with school year term (ASAP start through May 29, 2026).
- Full-time commitment, approximately 35 to 37.5 hours per week.
- Elementary school setting located in North Chicago, IL.
- Caseload includes one 4th/5th grade elementary resource classroom.
