Job Description
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school in North Chicago, IL. This onsite contract role offers a rewarding opportunity to support 4th and 5th-grade students within a resource classroom setting. The assignment will provide a dynamic environment to apply your expertise in special education while making a positive impact on student learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to elementary students with special needs in a resource classroom.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in line with state guidelines.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive learning experiences.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Special Education License (Sp. Ed. License) is required.
- Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois.
- Demonstrated experience teaching elementary-aged students with special needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive educational setting.
