Job Description
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support high school students in grades 9 through 12. This contract position requires expertise in providing individualized educational services to students with special needs, enhancing their academic and social development.
Location: Wilmington, DE
Position Type: Contract, School Year (CSY)
Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, 5 days per week
Key Qualifications:
- Delaware Special Education Certification is mandatory
- Proven experience working in special education within a high school setting preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education laws
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and support personnel
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to meet diverse student needs
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies for students with disabilities
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records as required by the district and state regulations
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
