An opportunity is available for dedicated special education professionals seeking a full-time contract role in New Haven, CT. This assignment, running from ASAP through June 4, 2026, involves working with middle and high school students in specialized and co-taught classroom settings. Two positions are open, each serving caseloads of 8-10 students and focusing on different grade levels and subjects.
Position One involves teaching 7th and 8th graders with self-contained math and science classes, along with co-taught social studies sections. Hours are from 7:25 AM to 3:15 PM. Position Two targets 11th and 12th graders, offering direct instruction and co-teaching in English Language Arts and college seminar courses, with hours from 7:25 AM to 3:30 PM.
Key qualifications for these roles include:
- Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) certification
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Masters degree in education or a related field
- Experience implementing individualized education plans and co-teaching models
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students and staff
Responsibilities will entail delivering tailored instruction, supporting student growth academically and socially, and collaborating with colleagues to foster inclusive learning environments.
