A Special Education Teacher is needed to support high school students in grades 9 through 12 in Wilmington, DE. This contract role spans the entire school year (CSY) and requires a commitment of 35 hours per week across 5 days. The position focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support tailored to meet the diverse needs of students within the special education program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate varying learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, adjusting strategies to promote academic and social growth.
- Maintain compliance with Delaware Special Education regulations and reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold valid Delaware Special Education Certification.
- Experience working with high school students (grades 9-12) in a special education setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to create inclusive and engaging lesson plans.
