Job Description

We are seeking two dedicated professionals to teach in a Pre-K1st Grade self-contained classroom for students with autism. With a student-focused environment and robust support from an interdisciplinary team that includes BCBAs, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and paraprofessionals, you'll have the resources needed to foster student growth and independence.

Qualifications:

  • Active TOSD with PREK-3 or TOH certification required
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with autism, particularly those who are nonverbal
  • Clear understanding of functional behavior approaches and strategies that promote communication and independence
  • Ability to collaborate closely within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong classroom management and adaptive instructional skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to 68 students in a non-verbal, self-contained classroom setting
  • Develop lessons and strategies tailored to individual students IEP goals
  • Utilize evidence-based communication supports, including AAC devices and visual aids
  • Promote functional behavior, addressing social, emotional, and adaptive skills
  • Work collaboratively with classroom paraprofessionals and allied therapists to optimize student support
  • Monitor and document student progress, participating in regular team meetings
  • Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment

This contract opportunity offers a consistent elementary schedule from 8:30 am3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. You will play a key role within a program of six similar classrooms, each supported by a dedicated team.
