Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a contract role for the current school year in New Britain, CT. This position focuses on delivering tailored educational programs that meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, fostering their academic and social growth within an inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior.
  • Employ evidence-based teaching methods and adapt materials to support differentiated learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in special education settings.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and instructional best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting an inclusive learning environment.

Location:

Contract Details:
