Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a K-12 school located in Naval Anacost Annex, DC. This contracted role focuses on providing support to students with mild to moderate disabilities and involves managing small caseloads to offer personalized and effective instruction throughout the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students with mild to moderate special education needs.
  • Manage and support small caseloads to ensure individualized attention and progress.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and comply with all federal and state special education regulations.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Active and valid Special Education teaching certification.
  • Previous experience working in a school environment, preferably with K-12 students.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to effectively manage small caseloads and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
