Job Description
This opportunity is for two full-time Special Education Teachers to support K-5th grade students in an elementary school setting near Elmwood Park, IL. The role involves managing 4 co-teaching sections and 1 instructional section, providing dedicated support to students with disabilities. This contract assignment runs throughout the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction and support in both co-teaching and instructional settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs.
- Collaborate with school psychologists, social workers, and other educators to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
Qualifications:
- Fully certified teacher holding a current Illinois Professional Educator License; LBS1 endorsement preferred.
- Minimum of three years successful experience teaching students with disabilities.
- Proven ability to design and execute effective IEPs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to student-centered education.
