Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced educator with expertise in general and special education to support young learners in kindergarten and first grade. This full-time, onsite contract position within an elementary school setting in Naperville, IL, offers a chance to contribute to a dynamic learning environment focused on student growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of kindergarten and first-grade students with diverse learning profiles
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to create inclusive lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with families and support staff
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and mentorship programs

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • LBS1 certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with early elementary students, preferably in kindergarten and first grade
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
