Job Description
This contract position is for a Special Education Teacher serving high school students in grades 9 through 12. The role is located in Wilmington, DE, with an expectation of 35 hours per week across five days. This opportunity is suitable for educators holding a valid Delaware Special Education Certification who are committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and supporting students with diverse needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Delaware Special Education Certification (required)
- Experience working with adolescents in grades 9-12
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education strategies
- Ability to collaborate with general education staff and support teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored instructional plans for special education students
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate records and comply with relevant educational regulations
- Support students social, emotional, and academic growth within the high school setting
Location: Wilmington, DE
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 5 days a week
Duration: Contract for the current school year (CSY)
