Job Description

Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for an elementary school leave contract position in Sun Prairie, WI. This full-time role is designed to cover a maternity leave from December 4 through March 4, with working hours from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday. The position involves supporting elementary-aged students receiving special education services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to elementary special education students.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate with the district-provided supervision, including paraprofessionals or other support staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Wisconsin Special Education (SPED) teaching license required.
  • Experience working with elementary school students in a special education setting.
  • Ability to manage caseload and adapt instructional approaches to diverse student needs.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to engage in remote panel interview via Zoom.
