Located near Mesa, this full-time, onsite contract assignment runs from August 3 through May 21, 2027, and requires expertise in special education at the high school level.

Qualifications:

• Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License, current K-12 Special Education Certificate, and active IVP Fingerprint Card
• Demonstrated practice with students requiring intensive behavioral support, including emotional disability, autism spectrum disorders, and challenges with prosocial or self-regulatory skills
• Experience adapting instruction to meet the needs of at-risk, multicultural, limited English proficient, and exceptional student populations
• Knowledgeable about the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other special services documentation in line with federal, state, and district standards
• Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training, or willingness to participate in relevant staff development
• Ability to collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team supporting positive student outcomes

Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily academic and behavioral instruction in a self-contained environment using evidence-based methods
• Implement strategies that foster social skills, self-regulation, and academic growth
• Develop, monitor, and update IEPs and behavior intervention plans, ensuring all documentation is compliant and current
• Engage in team meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning
• Maintain consistent communication with families and other stakeholders
• Assess and respond to individual student needs, ensuring a safe, equitable, and supportive classroom atmosphere
