Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching certification
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
- Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and families
- Adaptable and resourceful, with a commitment to inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom culture
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other staff
- Assess student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Maintain detailed, accurate records and documentation
- Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, and life skills
- Communicate regularly with families to share progress and offer support
