Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher role is available within a charter school network serving elementary and K-8 schools across Ohio. This position focuses on providing tailored support as an Intervention Specialist for students in grades 5-8, particularly addressing behavioral needs within a resource setting. The assignment is a contract starting ASAP through the end of the school year, with the possibility of renewal for the next school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with a variety of disabilities
  • Provide intervention services and behavior management strategies to support student success
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with families and stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License
  • Experience working with students in grades 5-8, particularly in managing behaviors within a special education setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a resource classroom
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive educational atmosphere

Location Options:

  • Mansfield, OH (primary assignment location)
  • Available postings also in Cleveland, Akron, and Shaker Heights, OH, offering placement flexibility within the region

Work Details:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract runs through the end of the current school year with potential to renew for the next
