Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting young learners in a dedicated communication disorder classroom. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work with a small group of students in grades kindergarten through fourth, providing tailored instruction and guidance to help each child thrive academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement required
- Experience or passion for working with students with communication disorders
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong classroom management abilities
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with staff and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction for a caseload of 10 students, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and data-driven decision making to promote student growth
- Collaborate closely with speech-language pathologists, related service providers, and general education teachers
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages communication and social development
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with special education requirements and district guidelines
- Engage in regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress
