Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners by supporting students with developmental and cognitive delays as a Special Education Teacher. This opportunity is a full-time, contract position for the 2026-2027 school year, working with elementary-level students in a center-based classroom. The role begins at the end of August and continues through early June, with standard weekday hours onsite.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification, Tier 3 or Tier 4 (must be provided with application)
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with developmental and cognitive delays, preferably in a center-based setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development, data collection, and individualized instruction
- Effective communication and collaborative skills for working with families, staff, and outside service providers
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and implement evidence-based strategies for students with DCD in an elementary setting
- Write and maintain IEPs, conduct progress monitoring, and participate in eligibility assessments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and other service providers to ensure student success
- Create and maintain a structured, predictable, and safe classroom environment
- Foster social and emotional learning while supporting functional, academic, and behavioral growth
- Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal regulations
