Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a K-12 school in Lynn, MA, supporting a medically fragile program at Newbury Elementary School. This contract role covers the current school year and involves working onsite with a small caseload of five students in grades K, 1, 3, and 5.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of medically fragile students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to promote growth and engagement
  • Maintain detailed documentation and compliance with state and federal special education regulations
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that accommodates each student's unique abilities and needs

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts Special Education (SPED) teaching license
  • Experience working with medically fragile students or similar special education populations preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
