Job Description

This full-time contract position is for a Special Education Teacher supporting a medically fragile program at a K-12 school in Lowell, MA. The role involves working onsite with a small caseload of five students in grades K, 1, 3, and 5 within the Newbury Elementary School setting. The contract duration is for the current school year (CSY).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of medically fragile students.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor student progress, adjust instructional strategies, and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with staff, families, and related service providers to ensure a comprehensive educational experience.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Special Education (SPED) teaching license.
  • Experience working with medically fragile students preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and engage in ongoing professional development.
