A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the upcoming leave contract in a K-12 setting located near Littleton, CO. This position starts immediately and runs through March 2, 2026, with a possible extension pending evaluation in February. The role demands dedication to supporting students with special needs through specialized instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Special Designed Instruction tailored to students receiving alternative standards.
- Collaborate closely with IEP teams and other educational professionals to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Apply strategies and instructional practices that meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of the IEP process and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Professional Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist endorsement (5-21).
- Candidates must present a license formatted as: Professional Teacher License #000000, Endorsed In: Special Education Generalist (5-21).
- Applicants with substitute, temporary, interim, or traveler licenses will only be considered if proof of application for the required license and endorsement is provided.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching special education, instructional methods, and student support.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with educators, families, and support staff.
