Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their growth and learning in a dynamic, inclusive environment. Experienced Special Education Teachers are needed for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This is a contract opportunity working with a range of students, including multiple self-contained classrooms for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Cognitive Impairments.
The open positions encompass:
- Two elementary-level self-contained programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- One middle school/high school self-contained ASD classroom
- One teacher for students with Cognitive Impairments, serving a variety of ages
These roles serve students ranging from elementary to high school, with needs spanning from mild to severe behavioral and cognitive challenges. Many programs support learners with significant disabilities, requiring patience, creativity, and commitment to individualized instruction. Supervision from classroom aides or additional licensed staff will not be provided.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (no substitute certificates will be considered)
- Bachelors degree with a special education endorsement; ASD endorsement is required for the high school level. If needed, candidates must be willing to enroll in courses to obtain the endorsement.
- Emotional Impairments certification or Autism endorsement required
- Experience with self-contained classroom environments preferred
- Understanding and ability to adapt to varied behaviors and significant disabilities
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and participate in ongoing professional learning
