A middle school special education teaching role is available in La Porte, IN, focusing on inclusive special education services for 8th-grade students. This contract position features a caseload of 24 students with various disabilities. The role requires dedication to individualized education programs (IEPs) with some of the caseload's IEPs already conferenced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to diverse learning needs of students in an inclusive classroom setting.
- Manage and support a caseload of 24 students across all disability categories.
- Collaborate with staff and families to implement and monitor IEPs, contributing where required to IEP development and updates.
- Maintain documentation and adhere to contractual and school schedules to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
- Experience working with middle school students with disabilities in an inclusive environment.
- Strong skills in IEP development, monitoring, and conferencing are preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and the educational team.
Work Schedule and Location:
- Location: La Porte, IN.
- School Hours: 9:00 AM 4:00 PM.
- Contract Hours: Approximately 8:35 AM 4:10 PM.
- Weekly Hours: 37.5.
