Step into a rewarding opportunity working directly with middle school students in an inclusive, co-teaching environment. Two full-time Special Education Teachers are needed for the upcoming school year, covering either 6th grade Math and Science or 7th/8th grade ELA and Science. Both positions are dedicated to supporting students with a range of exceptionalities, including Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD, within a collaborative teaching setting. Each classroom is designed to foster student growth while providing you with the resources and teamwork necessary to make a meaningful impactwithout toileting or diapering responsibilities.

Role Highlights:

• School year runs from August 5th to May 21st, 2027
• Participate in pre-employment training July 29th, with additional pre-planning from July 31st to August 4th
• Full-time schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:45am 3:45pm
• Typical caseloads of 10-12 students per teacher; roles not expected to serve students with significant behaviors requiring intensive intervention
• Collaboration with general education teachers in co-taught/inclusion settings
• Focus on academic, social, and behavioral support for grades 6-8

Your Qualifications:

• Active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement required
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong communication skills to partner with educators and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-centered classroom

Responsibilities:

• Co-plan and deliver instruction alongside general education teachers
• Implement and monitor IEPs and behavior plans when needed
• Engage in staff training and pre-planning
• Foster an encouraging learning environment for every student
