Job Description

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to serve students in grades K-12 at a public school in Kershaw, SC for the upcoming school year. The role is a contract position focused on supporting students with diverse learning needs, providing essential academic and behavioral interventions to promote their success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification with a multi-categorical license preferred
  • Experience working with elementary and high school students in special education settings
  • Strong knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education laws
  • Ability to create differentiated lesson plans and individualized learning goals
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the abilities and goals of each student
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Utilize positive behavior interventions and supports to address student needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations
