Job Description

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in an elementary school setting near Kansas City, MO. The role involves working in specialized classrooms focused on behavior and self-contained settings for students with moderate to severe disabilities. This full school year contract position offers 35 hours per week with competitive benefits for onsite employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students' special education goals.
  • Manage classrooms effectively, supporting behavioral and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Missouri state Special Education teaching license required.
  • Experience working with elementary students in behavior-focused or self-contained classrooms preferred.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral support techniques.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
