Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Youll have the chance to work closely with a diverse group of 14-20 students, providing meaningful instruction and accommodations to foster academic growth and independence.

This full-time role offers a consistent schedule with 37.5 hours per week, and youll be assigned to one school, allowing you to build lasting relationships with students and staff alike. Your responsibilities will include co-teaching in four inclusive classrooms, as well as leading two direct math classes (Algebra and Geometry). In addition, youll support learners in English and have dedicated time for study hall and lesson preparation.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Special Education Teaching License (required)
• Experience or strong interest in working with high school students
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers in co-taught classes
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, goal-oriented classroom environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to complete school-specific onboarding and fingerprinting before starting

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction in both co-taught and self-contained settings
• Plan and implement IEPs for a caseload of 14-20 students
• Collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to monitor progress and adjust supports as needed
• Provide a positive and supportive learning atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued
• Participate in school events, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
