Job Description

Located in Jersey City, NJ, this full-time special education teaching opportunity is geared towards a 5th-grade elementary classroom in a co-teaching environment focused on English Language Arts (ELA). The role entails holding a contract position for the current school year (CSY) with a primary emphasis on supporting students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to design and implement differentiated lessons in an English co-teaching setting.
  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the educational needs of students with disabilities in accordance with their IEPs.
  • Support inclusive education practices by adapting materials and assessments to ensure accessibility.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate in Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped.
  • Certification in English/ELA or an appropriate grade-level content area.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
