Job Description

This role focuses on managing and overseeing all aspects related to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) within K-12 special education settings. Located in Homestead, FL, this position serves in the current school year with a direct hire opportunity. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with applicable regulations and foster collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, supporting students with disabilities through effective IEP management. Occasional substitute teaching duties may also be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all matters pertaining to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations relating to special education
  • Collaborate closely with Miami-Dade County Public Schools staff and stakeholders
  • Provide substitute teaching support when necessary
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relevant to special education programs

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (Masters degree preferred)
  • Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or eligibility for certification
  • Completion of Department of Children & Family Child Care Training
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in leadership or coordinator roles
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred

Location: Homestead, FL (Miami area)

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
