Job Description

We have an opportunity for a dedicated special education professional to provide tailored educational support in a high school setting. This full-time position requires a skilled individual who is passionate about fostering an inclusive learning environment and addressing the diverse needs of students.

Location: Highmore, SD Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM Contract Duration: August 14, 2025, to May 16, 2026

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with students, parents, and staff.
  • Deliver direct services to students with special needs, ensuring effective instructional techniques and supports.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusive practices within the classroom.
  • Engage in ongoing assessment and documentation of student progress and outcomes.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid South Dakota Special Education Teaching License.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with students with special needs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
