Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to make a meaningful impact in a K-3 Life Skills classroom for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, in-person contract role offers you the chance to support elementary students with diverse learning needs and contribute to their academic and personal growth.
As the Life Skills Teacher, you will work with a targeted K-3 caseload, designing and implementing individualized lesson plans, adapting curriculum materials, and fostering a supportive, structured classroom environment. Collaboration with general educators, support staff, and families is essential for student success, making relationship-building and strong communication skills key for this position.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Utah Special Education License/Certification required
- Experience teaching special education at the elementary level
- Background in developing and implementing IEPs and behavioral strategies
- Strong understanding of life skills curriculum and best practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Dedication to student-centered instruction and inclusive education
- Commitment to a full academic year contract (July 28, 2026 May 26, 2027)
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to K-3 life skills students
- Create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Maintain accurate IEP documentation and progress reports
- Partner with families, therapists, and team members to ensure holistic student support
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development as required
