Make a meaningful impact as a contracted Special Education Teacher in a supportive private school setting focused on helping students ages 11-16 reach their fullest potential. This full-time assignment runs from July 2026 through July 2027, providing a stable, rewarding opportunity for a dedicated educator aiming to engage a small caseload of approximately seven students in a close-knit classroom environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education certification required
• Experience or strong interest in working with middle school-aged students (1116 years)
• Demonstrated commitment to individualized instruction and student advocacy
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with student needs and state requirements
• Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored for each students learning style
• Track and assess student growth and communicate progress to families and team members
• Foster an inclusive, compassionate classroom atmosphere where every student is valued
• Collaborate with fellow educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff for holistic student support
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school meetings as needed
