Job Description

A middle school in Framingham, MA is seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher for the current school year contract. This role focuses on supporting students in grades 4-7 who require specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs. The ideal candidate will hold a Massachusetts Special Education Teacher Certification with moderate and/or moderate/severe licensure, demonstrating expertise in developing and implementing effective educational strategies to promote student growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid MA Special Education Teacher Certification with moderate and/or moderate/severe licensure
  • Experience teaching students in grades 4-7, preferably within a middle school setting
  • Strong knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education laws and protocols
  • Ability to create inclusive and engaging lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs
  • Effective classroom management and communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals for students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to ensure academic and social development
  • Collaborate with colleagues, therapists, and families to support holistic student growth
  • Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and independence
