This role focuses on managing and overseeing all aspects related to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) within a K-12 school environment in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The position requires close collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and may also include substitute teaching as needed. This is a direct hire opportunity for the current school year, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs.
- Ensuring adherence to legal and educational standards governing special education services.
- Collaborating effectively with district officials and school staff to support student needs.
- Substituting in classrooms as needed to maintain continuity of instruction.
Qualifications and experience include:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field required; masters degree preferred.
- Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or eligibility for certification.
- Completion of Department of Children & Family Child Care Training.
- Minimum of three years experience working with students with disabilities, ideally with experience in a leadership or coordinator capacity.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and lift/move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
