Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to work in a supportive school environment in Exeter, NH. This full-time, contracted position offers a 35-hour workweek serving a diverse K-12 caseload. The role primarily focuses on resource classrooms with some push-in services provided in general education settings. There is also the potential to work within a life skills program, which may be combined with resource room responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with a range of disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Behavioral Disorders (BD), Learning Disabilities (LD), and moderate life skills needs.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers to provide appropriate push-in support.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Managing classroom behaviors and supporting social-emotional development.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, staff, and administration to ensure student success.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Valid special education teaching certification.
  • Experience working with students across the spectrum of moderate disabilities.
