Job Description

An elementary Special Education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year in Elk Grove, CA. This full-time, onsite contract role focuses on providing specialized instruction within a Special Day Class (SDC) setting for 4th and 5th-grade students. The position requires working closely with students who have mild to moderate or moderate to severe disabilities to support their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in a Special Day Class.
  • Create and implement lesson plans that accommodate the diverse needs of elementary-aged learners.
  • Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet student goals effectively.
  • Collaborate with school staff and support personnel to foster an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communication with parents or guardians.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid California Special Education Credential with Mild/Moderate and/or Moderate/Severe endorsements.
  • Experience teaching elementary-aged students in a Special Education setting, preferably within an SDC.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to onsite school environments.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.

Location:

  • Elementary school located in Elk Grove, California.

Additional Details:

  • This role requires onsite presence during regular school hours.
  • No paraeducators or additional aides will be provided.
  • Fingerprinting and background clearance will be required prior to the start date.
