Job Description

Make a direct impact in the lives of young learners as an experienced Special Education Teacher in a dedicated, supportive Autism program. We are seeking two compassionate educators to work with Pre-K1st Grade students in a non-verbal, self-contained classroom setting. Each class serves approximately six students with the support of two paraprofessionals, ensuring an individualized and nurturing environment.

This program is designed for high-needs students and is supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team, including BCBA, OT, PT, and related service professionals. The primary focus is to foster functional behavior and communication, enabling students to develop greater independence and reach their fullest potential.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid certification: TOSD + PreK-3 or TOH
  • Demonstrated experience teaching students with Autism
  • Proficiency in supporting non-verbal learners, with evidence-based strategies for communication and behavior
  • Passion for working with high-needs, early childhood populations
  • Ability to collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and a multidisciplinary support team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to 68 students in a structured autism classroom
  • Implement and adapt lesson plans to promote functional communication and positive behavior
  • Collect and track progress data to inform instruction and interventions
  • Partner with paraprofessionals and related service providers for comprehensive student support
  • Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom atmosphere
