A school district in Edison, NJ is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. These positions cover a range of K-12 classrooms, supporting students with diverse learning needs and disabilities. Assignments offer a contract through June 2026 with immediate start dates available.
Openings include:
- Preschool Disabled Teacher
- Learning Disabilities Teachers for elementary grades K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th (5 positions)
- Elementary Autism Teachers for ages 6-8 (5 positions) and ages 8-10 (1 position)
- Elementary Behavioral Disability Teacher for grades K-2 (1 position)
- Middle School MCI and Autism Teachers with certifications in TOH, K-8 with Students with Disabilities, or related subject areas (2 positions)
- Middle School Learning Disabilities Teachers specializing in ELA, Social Studies, Science, and general K-6 disabilities (5 positions)
- High School Autism Teacher with appropriate subject or Students with Disabilities certifications (1 position)
- High School Learning Disabilities Teachers for ELA and Math (3 positions)
- High School MCI Teachers for ELA and Science (2 positions)
Responsibilities include delivering specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs and collaborating with staff to foster an inclusive learning environment. Candidates must be flexible in managing a variety of behavioral challenges and committed to creating meaningful educational experiences.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate to the assigned grade and disability area
- Experience working with students with disabilities in K-12 settings
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction and apply behavior intervention strategies
