Job Description

A Special Education Teacher is needed for the 2025-2026 school year at an elementary school in Edison, NJ. This is a contract position for the full school year with an immediate start date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to students with diverse special education needs.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards.
  • Manage a classroom environment that addresses various behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create effective education plans.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Adhere to Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and district policies.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Standard Teaching Certificates for K-6 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) required.
  • Experience working with elementary students in a special education setting.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet behavioral and learning needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Location: Edison, New Jersey
Duration: Contract position for the 2025-2026 school year
Start Date: As soon as possible
