Step into a rewarding contract opportunity tailored for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with a Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement. This position offers the unique chance to provide impactful support throughout the academic year, serving K-12 students in an itinerant capacity. The role focuses on consulting with staff regarding adaptive curriculum strategies, enhancing classroom accessibility, and facilitating the use of assistive technology.
As a key member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, youll partner with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and general education teachers to deliver comprehensive educational experiences. The position is fully on-site and requires commitment for the academic term, from August 24, 2026, through May 28, 2027.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Active SPED license with Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement required
- Experience supporting students with physical impairments, ideally within a K-12 school setting
- Strong understanding of curriculum adaptation, accessible classroom environments, and assistive technologies
- Proficiency in conducting functional evaluations and managing IEPs
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various support staff, including therapists and classroom teachers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver itinerant support and insights on adaptive curriculum and accessibility
- Conduct comprehensive student assessments and functional evaluations
- Develop and maintain individualized education plans (IEPs); track and report progress
- Serve as an educational consultant for integrating assistive technology
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate student success
