Job Description

Exciting opportunities are available this spring at a welcoming elementary school for a passionate Special Education Teacher with expertise in supporting diverse student needs. This full-time contract role begins mid-April and runs through the school years end in June, providing you with the chance to create meaningful learning experiences for young students.

Ideal candidates will bring a strong knowledge base in special education and be committed to fostering a safe, engaging classroom environment. Youll have the unique opportunity to be trained in TACT-2 behavior assessment methodsan essential skill for managing student behaviors with both empathy and professionalism. Your ability to apply behavior interventions, including restraint when required, will support the well-being and development of your students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid PA Special Education N-12, N-8, or 7-12 certification
  • Prior experience with elementary-age children in special education settings
  • Willingness to learn and implement TACT-2 behavior assessment and intervention methods
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills and familiarity (or willingness to learn) CIU-20s computer-based and web-based applications
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to elementary students with special needs
  • Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to develop and follow IEPs
  • Monitor and record student progress, utilizing digital tools and reporting systems
  • Maintain a classroom atmosphere of trust, safety, and positivity
  • Apply TACT-2 strategies in challenging situations to ensure student and staff safety
