About the Role

  • As a Resource Room Teacher, you will provide direct academic support and specialized instruction for approximately 10 students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering student growth, maintaining compliance with special education requirements, and collaborating with school staff and families.

Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver specialized instruction in a resource room setting, Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Track and document student progress toward academic goals, Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet student needs, Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff, Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions, Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations, Support students in building academic, organizational, and self-advocacy skills

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Active Maryland Special Education Teaching Certification appropriate for the assigned grade level
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance requirements

Preferred

  • High school special education experience
  • Resource room teaching experience
  • Knowledge of inclusion and intervention strategies
  • Experience supporting students with executive functioning and academic skill development

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.00 to $40.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
