Job Description

Sunbelt staffing currently has an opening for a school special education teacher for a full time position in the Duncanville, Texas area.

The students will be in elementary school and have mild to moderate cognitive or emotional disabilities. They will either be in 2nd-3rd or 3rd-4th grade. The special education teacher will also have a paraprofessional working alongside them in the classroom to provide additional support when needed.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Special Education or related field
  • TX special ed teaching license
  • Experience working with students with disabilities
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct students both individually and in group settings
  • Plan curriculum, special ed programs and teaching methods.
  • Evaluate and monitor student progress in and outside of the classroom
  • Evaluate student progress based on output and work output
  • Determine and implement set goals, objectives and directives
