Onsite position
Caseload: Life Skills classroom
Student population and caseload details will be discussed during the interview process
Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
Provide specialized instruction to students with significant cognitive and developmental disabilities
Foster functional academics, communication, social-emotional growth, and independent living skills
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications
Active Texas Special Education teaching certification
Experience working in a Life Skills or self-contained special education classroom preferred
Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs
