A Special Education Teacher with expertise as a Dyslexia Instructor is needed to support K-12 students in a school located in the Dripping Springs, TX area. This contract position spans the current school year, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The role focuses on delivering specialized literacy intervention to students diagnosed with dyslexia or other related reading disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide structured literacy instruction utilizing the Basic Language Skills (BLS) curriculum tailored to students with dyslexia.
• Deliver individualized academic support grounded in a research-based approach as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) or Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP).
• Collaborate with paraeducators or other designated support staff assigned for supervision.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate effectively with education teams.
• Adhere to district policies including fingerprinting and other onboarding requirements.
• Engage in a virtual interview process with immediate decision timelines.

Qualifications:

• Valid CALT or CALP certification required.
• Experience teaching the Basic Language Skills curriculum.
• Proven ability to work with K-12 students diagnosed with dyslexia or similar learning challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Availability to begin as soon as possible, through the end of the school year.
